Update on Whole Brain Teaching

So far I've been using the "class/yes", "teach/okay", and "eyes/hands, eyes/hands".

It's going well and the children LOVE the teaching part.

I wish however that I knew more ways to use the body to teach things.  I think that will come with practice though.  Anyone else use whole brain teaching?  What do you do?

  1. I love it too! I've used class/yes, hands & eyes, teach-ok, and a few others. I really really love Mirror My Words and Mirror My Words and Gestures, and the kids like it too. It works best if you plan out the gestures you're going to use for specific words or concepts, because then you can make them unique. But it's even handy on the fly! Like the other techniques, the Mirror My Words and Gestures is like a call and response, so once kids learn the sequence of the interaction, it's very useful. I really enjoyed the videos on youtube- they helped me to integrate the Mirror My Words and Gestures into my instruction. Hope this helps!
